Cultural Diversity Education
Come learn about the different cultures in your diverse community. Keep checking back for new topics and added resources.
How Do You Do: A talk show with guests that teach us how to be creative in different ways.
Message Garden: Come and share your message of hope, inspiration and purpose!
These Message Gardens are - painted rock gardens - (see pictures here) where families, friends and community members can share their thoughts in support of racial justice and other socially relevant themes.
Additionally, we are offering the opportunity to host small groups of families or friends, so if you have a group that is interested in having a small rock painting party, email us and we can get that set up. It is an excellent way to promote team building for your workplace or just a fun way to meet in a safe and open space while delivering our messages of support and solidarity. (**we are following physical distancing rules and other preventive measures**).
With more people looking to be able to become self-sufficient by growing their own food, we thought it would be helpful to provide content that helps our patrons gain the knowledge they need to get started planting their own gardens regardless of their housing situation. Sharing article links and post tutorial videos that teach the community what they need to know to grow gardens in their backyards, porches, or even inside their houses/apartments. Patrons could be encouraged to share their experience planting and growing their gardens on social media via hashtag like #thprdgarden or #thillsgarden
Join stimulating small group conversations to explore issues, thoughts, and feelings on topics relevant to older adults. When: 11am - noon, every other Friday
