Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District’s Nature & Trails Department works with the Girl Scouts of the United States of America to offer opportunities for Girl Scouts of all ages to complete badges and increase their natural resource knowledge. Whether you are part of a troop working toward a Bronze Award or an individual Girl Scout interested in earning a badge from one of our parks, we have a variety of opportunities to choose. These offerings include everything from educational programs to volunteer opportunities, such as Silver or Gold Award projects.

Brownies and Juniors: Math in Nature Badge Program
Join us to explore the shapes, symmetry, and patterns you can find in nature. Go on a scavenger hunt through the park as you join our naturalists for a day that includes hikes, and hands-on activities where you can complete the steps to earning your Math in Nature badge! Join as a troop or individually. Badge is not included with registration
Brownies and Juniors: Outdoor Art Creator and Explorer Badge
Get outside and be inspired by the beauty of nature! Join our naturalists for a day of art in the park that includes hikes and hands-on activities where you can complete the steps to earning your outdoor art creator and explorer badge! Join as a troop or individually. Badge is not included with registration.
Brownies and Juniors: Citizen Science Journey Workshop
Get started on your Citizen Science Jorney with a guided naturalist from the Nature Center. Sharpen your five senses and observation skills, create your field journal and get started on data collection! You will be ready to start entering your findings on a citizen science website to contribute to scientific research.
Daisies
A visit to a park is a great activity for your Daisies to do as part of a regular meeting or as an extra activity. Whether self-guided or led by one of our naturalists, girls can work towards earning their petals through nature exploration. Ask for a program meeting badge requiremnts for Outdoor Art Maker or Trail Adventure!

Looking for an activity that will help your troop complete a specific journey or badge requirement? Our experienced staff will focus guided hikes and hands-on activities to meet your troop’s needs.

Self-Guided Trail Inspections
We also offer a way for you or your troop to complete a service project at your own leisure. Pick up litter, look for problems to report back to a Park Ranger or simply help out some invertebrate wildlife. We appreciate the help our community provides to improve the safety and health of our natural areas and their inhabitants.
