THPRD recognizes that safety and well-being are top priorities for guests visiting our parks and facilities. Our Risk & Benefits Department and Safety Services work to optimize the safety of our staff and guests.

Risk and Benefits

This department provides assistance to the organization, employees and program users in the following areas:

• Occupational and Program Safety
• Property damage claims
• General Liability claims (third party)
• Workers compensation claims
• Employee benefits
• Contract administration

Safety Services

This department provides incident-driven assistance to the organization, employees and program users, including:

• Rule enforcement
• Encroachment issues
• Theft
• Vandalism
• Harassment
• Assault
• Coordinates emergency resources

THPRD’s uniformed safety service personnel patrols parks and facilities daily by vehicle, bicycle and on foot. Their primary role is to welcome users to THPRD’s parks and facilities, and to make sure users are safe and following district rules.

Safety Service staff report and investigate incidents. They have the authority to write exclusions of 30 to 180 days to individuals found in violation of district rules and regulations.
