THPRD invites full and part-time employees to get involved in an Employee Resource Group. Participation is included as regular paid time. Read on to learn more about group options and ways to participate. Employees can participate in any one of the following three groups at a time. Affinity Groups
Affinity Groups are employee-initiated and led groups that meet regularly and aim to offer safe spaces for staff to share experiences and find mutual support. These groups are typically aligned with protected status described in non-discrimination laws, but could include any group that experiences historical barriers to equitable and inclusive workplaces. To start a new Affinity Group:
Recruit at least 3 total members and appoint one member as the group’s organizer. Need help recruiting? Email Lindsay Lambert at L.Lambert@thprd.org
Complete a New Group Welcome Form. Before submitting the form, each member should receive supervisor approval to join the group.

Transformation & Allyship Group

The Transformation & Allyship Group is a group of employees that meets regularly for a shared learning experience about ways to engage in personal and professional equity and justice work in the context of systemic racism and oppression. These learning experiences are intended to lean into discomfort while also actively inviting people in, encouraging mutual learning, and fostering peer-to-peer learning. Welcoming & Inclusive Committee (WIC)
The WIC is an employee-led and action-centered committee that meets monthly throughout the year to advise and implement equity and justice-based action that strengthens THPRD’s mission and vision. Here are some examples of the WIC’s accomplishments:
Advised THPRD on Appearance Guidelines, the BIPOC Internship Program, and THPRD policies
Funded THPRD equity initiatives through the 2022 Equity Grants program

WIC applications open every one to two years in the fall. When applications are open, information about how to apply will be posted on this webpage and promoted throughout the district.
