THPRD completed construction on the Westside Regional Trail in November 2013. The long-awaited six miles of trail that connects the southern portion of the district to the Merlo Rd Max station in Beaverton provides a paved stretch of trail for the community to walk, cycle and run. The three completed sections offer users alternate, safer routes for active transportation while enjoying sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

Project Summary & Public Benefits
With funds from the 2008 voter-approved bond, THPRD has formed a nearly continuous off-road trail from Barrows Road in Tigard to the MAX Merlo Station in Beaverton. In total the new regional commuter trail spans about six miles, allowing for alternative, safe routes for active transportation.
Segment No. 1 (Barrows Rd to Scholls Ferry Road) of the Westside Trail is a 0.39-mile-long trail that begins at the Tigard city limits at Barrows Road, connects to the east/west Summercreek Community Trail, then continues north toward Scholls Ferry Road.
Along with the initial benefit of connecting multiple regional and community trails, this section also allows easy access to the Murray-Scholls Town Center area.
Segment No. 4 (Galena Way to Rigert Road) of the Westside Trail connects Galena Way to Rigert Road. This segment completes 3.32 miles of the Westside Trail.
Segment No. 7 (Mt. Williams-Burntwood Way to Davis Road) of the Westside Trail connects Burntwood Way to Davis Road over the Mount Williams parcel. This is a partnership project with the city of Beaverton and was a very challenging segment because of steep topography and mature trees.
Project Budget
$4,150,000
