Project Summary & Public Benefits
THPRD's successful bond measure, passed in November 2008, made it possible to install new play equipment at Waterhouse Park.
The new installation gives children of all ages and abilities the chance to swing, climb, slide, rock and spin. The colorful structure was designed to mimic a beaver den, and includes wide and twisting sliding areas, ladders, and several platforms at different heights. Other amenities include a separate swing set and durable plastic toys that children can sit on that also rock and spin. The new apparatus replaces early 1980s-era equipment.
Another important improvement at the park is its collection of ADA upgrades. They includes a picnic table with a wide concrete pad, and a pathway leading from NW Foxboro Circle to the new play equipment, which is also ADA accessible.
Waterhouse Park, located in the Schlottmann Creek Greenway, is accessible from NW Foxborough Circle, NW 158th Avenue, Waterhouse Lake and the Hunter's Run apartment complex.
Project Budget
$97,375, which includes the ADA improvements
