Natural Resources Department staff and contractors have worked to remove the former area of turf grass, install log and rock piles, and seed the project area with native grasses and wildflowers. Volunteers planted the shrubs along the wetland and turf grass borders. Staff will continue to monitor and treat target weed species within the project boundary.
Project Summary & Public Benefits
The Natural Resources Department will remove the formerly mowed turf grass area, replant with native shrubs and seed with native wildflowers and grasses to provide habitat for pollinators. Pollinators are suffering from habitat loss and this restoration project hopes to support these declining populations.
