When the district was preparing to place the 2008 bond before voters, residents were asked what they most wanted if the measure passed. Among the many wishes and needs, input indicated that athletic fields were needed in each quadrant of the district.

In the northeast quadrant, a multipurpose sports field was built at Cedar Mill Park when it was redeveloped in 2014. Although the redeveloped park is open, this new athletic field is currently closed to allow the turf to grow.  The district expects to open the new field for use in May or June 2015.
