Restoration work at this site is complete. Initial weed removal was completed in the southern half of the project area (between SW 155th Street and the tennis courts) in autumn 2011. This completed the site preparation prior to native plant installation.
In February 2012, several thousand native shrubs were installed throughout the entire site. In autumn 2012 staff planted several thousand seeds of Douglas spirea, peafruit rose and oceanspray throughout the northern end of the project area. Throughout 2013, staff continued weed treatments of grasses and thistles which have colonized parts of the site, and will continue aggressive weed treatments for several years.
