Project Summary & Public Benefits
THPRD is taking on a large scale natural area restoration and trail expansion project in Mt. Williams Park. A new gravel trail will be constructed within the park connecting the Westside Trail to Thornbrook Park to the west. Construction of the trail will not require any tree removal and only minimal vegetation clearing. The restoration portion of the project will include removal of non-native vegetation and replanting with native trees and shrubs. Illegal trails will be closed to create larger blocks of trail-free wildlife habitat.
Project Budget
$100,000 for restoration and $18,000 for trail expansion
