Project Summary & Public Benefits
This project includes the development of a new 21.5 acre community park in THPRD's southwest quadrant, adjacent to Mountain View Middle School and Lawndale Park. Project amenities may include athletic fields, picnic areas, play equipment, pathways or community gardens.
Above and beyond improvements funded by the 2008 voter-approved bond measure, the Tualatin Hills Park Foundation (THPF) is raising additional funds to upgrade the athletic field for universal accessibility including special ADA features, field surfacing, playground and other related amenities. The THPRD Board of Directors has approved the development of a Model Community Sports Park for those of all abilities at this new community park.THPRD and THPF are committed to providing a model park.
The Master Plan phase began in early 2014 when THPRD contracted with David Evans and Associates to design and permit the park. The project kick-off meeting took place Feb. 25, 2014. Site analysis and survey work were completed during spring 2014, and a neighborhood meeting was held on August 27, 2014. The purpose of the meeting was to review two master plan concepts with neighbors and interested parties. A second neighborhood meeting was held on October 8, 2014 where the October 2014 preferred master plan was presented and discussed.
Input from the community, site constraints, budget and other relating factors were taken into consideration as the concept design developed into the November 2014 preferred master plan. Both the October and November 2014 preferred master plans are available in the Document Center on the right side of this page.
