Native tree and shrub planting for 2015 is complete at Lowami Hart Woods. Contractors installed 44,000 native trees and shrubs and the site is looking good! Contractors will be onsite through December 2018 for follow up treatments of non-native vegetation.
Split rail fencing has been installed at several locations to close illegal trails. Thank you to everyone for staying on the official trails at Lowami Hart Woods.

The Natural Resources Department is taking on a large scale natural area restoration of Lowami Hart Woods. The project will include removal of non-native vegetation and replanting with native trees and shrubs. Illegal trails will be closed to create larger blocks of trail-free wildlife habitat.
