Additionally, to allow for better visibility and security, THPRD's Maintenance Department reduced the amount of vegetation in the northwest corner of the park. A 10-foot buffer area between the fence and the park will remain for the benefit of the neighbors.
New play equipment was installed at Lost Park in summer 2011. The new swings, ladders, slides and other kid-friendly equipment replaced the original structure, which was installed in the early 1980s. The old equipment was outdated and replacement materials were hard to come by.
The new play area has been expanded by about 500 square feet. This expansion allows for greater play opportunities for all kids in all age groups and with differing abilities.
Curbing, benches, trash receptacles, and an ADA pathway and picnic table have been incorporated into the park.
