Project Summary & Public Benefits
THPRD's successful bond measure, passed in November 2008, meant that new play equipment could be installed at Lawndale Park. The new swings, bars, slides, and other colorful equipment provides play opportunities for kids in all age groups and with differing abilities.
In addition to the new play equipment, the play area was relocated to the west to increase visibility to and from Wright Drive.
The new play area is approximately 800 square feet larger than the previous area. Another positive improvement to the park is the addition of an ADA accessible pathway from the street to the new structure as well as an ADA accessible picnic table.
Additional improvements such as concrete curbing for containment of the wood fiber safety surfacing, benches, picnic tables and/or trash receptacles were also included.
