Project Summary & Public Benefits

The walking trails at the 68-acre Jenkins Estate have seen significant improvements thanks to the 2008 bond. The property, situated on the northwest slope of Cooper Mountain in Aloha, features a restored country estate, gardens, wildflower meadows and several trails through the forested acreage.

In this phase of the project, three pedestrian bridges were planned to replace older, existing bridges.

Additional funds from the bond were used at Jenkins Estate to enhance the natural areas and improve the trail system by closing some trails, re-routing others, and building new ones. This helped to create a better visitor experience as well as larger blocks for wildlife habitat.
