The Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex, located at 15700 SW Walker Road in Beaverton, houses the THPRD administrative offices, the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center, the Tualatin Hills Aquatics Center, the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center and a training area.
The bond allowed for several maintenance projects at the Howard M. Terpenning Recreation Complex. Behind-the-scenes work includes new ductwork bracing, new sprinkler pipes, and shelving to hold gear, supplies and general maintenance needs.
New scoreboards were also installed.
Project Summary & Public Benefits
Voters in the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District know it’s important to take care of their facilities. That’s one of the reasons they passed a $100 million bond in 2008, part of which focuses on maintaining the equipment and buildings that thousands of people enjoy throughout the year.
Good maintenance just makes good sense. Just like taking care of your home, the upkeep of the district’s pools, work out centers and other buildings extends their useful life, avoids more costly repairs or replacements, ensures safely, avoids unnecessary closures, keeps them efficiently operating, and helps uses get more for their money.
