Restoration work at this site has been completed. In 2013, contractors installed over 3,000 sedges, shrubs, and trees in a formerly turfed area. The remaining areas of Hideaway Park and throughout the Hideaway Addition were planted in winter 2014.
Project Summary & Public Benefits
The Natural Resources Department will remove non-native weeds/plants and replanting with native plants and shrubs to improve park habitats. Native vegetation will also be planted in the wettest portion of the mowed areas.
A newly acquired parcel to the southeast of the existing park will also undergo restoration, including removal of invasive plants followed by installation of native shrubs and trees.
