Restoration work at this site has been completed. Volunteers planted and mulched 4,500 trees and shrubs which will improve wildlife habitat in the park.
Project Summary & Public Benefits
The Natural Resources Department has restored creek side areas in Hazedale Park by removing non-native weeds and shrubs and replanting with native species. Native plants attract wildlife, such as bird and butterflies to neighborhood parks and natural areas.
Staff also added woody material to areas along the creek to enhance habitat for fish and other wildlife and for erosion control.
Project Budget
$28,800
