This new neighborhood park in the Bethany neighborhood opened to the public in January 2014. Hanson Ridge, which is located amidst vast wetlands, was formerly undeveloped. The new park features a play structure, swings and picnic tables. Meandering hard-surface pathways also make the natural area more accessible to visitors. The park is designed to eventually connect directly to the Westside Trail.
Habitat restoration is also taking place at Hansen Ridge. Interpretive signage will soon be installed to provide visitors with a brief history of the property and its surrounding area, including the original Hansen family farmhouse located just west of the park, across 147th Avenue.
Hansen Ridge Park is located at 4075 NW 147th Ave. in Portland.
