Project Summary & Public Benefits
THPRD’s Natural Resources Department, in partnership with Clean Water Services, restored these 7 acres in the Raleigh Hills neighborhood.
Bauman Woods Natural Area, bordered by Fanno and Vermont Creeks, contains a variety of habitats including shrublands and forests.
Funds from the 2008 bond measure paid for the removal of invasive weed and tree species from the upland areas, the installation of native trees and shrubs and the installation of a soft-surface trail.
The graveled trail has been completed through the eastern edge of the park. The trail starts at the end of Old Oleson Road (which dead ends at the northern edge of the park) and meanders through the woods to the southeastern corner of the par near Vermont Creek.
Project Budget
$77,300
