Spring Native Plant Sale this Saturday at Tualatin Hills Nature Center

The Tualatin Hills Nature Center is hosting the Spring Native Plant Sale and Resource Fair on Saturday, April 27, from 10 am to 2 pm.

There will be a large variety of native shrubs, ground covers, perennials and trees available for purchase. Volunteers, plant experts, a Park Ranger, and Nature Center staff, will be on-hand to help with selections to make sure you get the right plant.

“We are fortunate to have a beautiful array of native plants in our region,” said Karen Munday, program coordinator. “You can easily find the right native plant for any spot in your garden. Native plants are also perfectly adapted to our weather and have the added benefit of needing less water once established.”

The theme for the sale is Water-Wise Gardening! Discover the benefits of using water wisely, how native plants need less water once established, and learn about the benefits of selecting drought resistant plants.

The Spring Native Plant Sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Tualatin Hills Nature Park. Proceeds of the sale support environmental education programs and future park improvements.

The Tualatin Hills Nature Park is a 222-acre wildlife reserve nestled in the heart of Beaverton. The park is located at 15655 SW Millikan Way, Beaverton, OR 97003.

A small selection of native plants are available as part of a pre-view of Saturday’s offerings. Visit the Tualatin Hills Nature Center to find trilliums and other early-blooming wildflowers. The Center is open 8:30 am to 5 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 5 pm on weekends.
