Cedar Hills Park Grand Re-Opening

October 7, 2019: Please join THPRD for the Cedar Hills Park Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, October 26, from 11 am to 2 pm. The park is located at 2300 SW Cedar Hills Blvd.

Event Details
The grand opening will be Halloween-themed with trick-or-treat stations, kid’s activities, music, sports demonstrations, the nature mobile, and more! People are encouraged to wear their favorite Halloween costume and to check out the park’s new amenities.

There will be a field dedication honoring Bruce S. Dalrymple, who served on the THPRD Board of Directors from 1997-2006. Dalrymple was a visionary and influential community leader whose service to THPRD spanned more than 20 years, culminating with 10 years on the board.

Cedar Hills Park Redevelopment
Construction on the Cedar Hills Park redevelopment began in July 2018. The $12.7 million dollar project was primarily funded through a 2008 voter-approved bond measure. Improvements to the park include: a new multi-purpose synthetic athletic field with lights, expanded parking, new play equipment, a new interactive splash pad that is FREE and open to the public during park hours, a community garden space, permanent ADA accessible restroom, new picnic area, shelters, and more. The planning and design of the park redevelopment was guided by public input throughout the process.

The redevelopment of the park coincided with the Beaverton School District’s construction of William Walker Elementary School, located next to the park. The timing provided an opportunity for both agencies to plan and coordinate efforts including shared work on site designs, traffic flow, and more.
